Fausty AKA Doug Spink

Missing in Action - We're still thinking of you.
https://www.zooville.org/threads/doug-spink-1971-2020.6884/

Passed away in January of this year (2020). Best known for his Podcasts and publication of the book "Uniquely Dangerous". A volatile personality with what I considered extreme political views on zoophilia. It wasn't his political views that had me at odds with him however. Politics I can debate.

I understand many here did not like Doug, however he WAS a part of the community and has a place here. One of my regrets in running the forum is banning Fausty a year ago. It was a personal, not an Administrative, decision. The forum honestly could not function with both he and I on it.

If you've no kinder words to leave Fausty than Rest in Peace, leave only those. He believed strongly in what he was, and in what he was doing, and he honestly felt what he was doing was helping zoophiles. That showed at times in our arguments. He deserves those words anyway.

I'm late in posting this, but I haven't been to Zooville in a while.

Rest in Peace Fausty.

DITTO!

That pretty well sums it up for most folks here, I'm willing to wager.

I understand the sentiment and emotion on this one. It was much the same for Ebon. I still feel his place place is warranted here for two reasons. He was a member of the Forum, no matter how briefly, thus one of my pack. He was also a heavy influence on many younger zoos in the community, for whatever effect.

I'll not argue his inclusion further. Like Ebon, like Rannoch, I mark his passing and wish a troubled soul final peace. Nothing more. I hope someone does the same one day foe me. You may do the same, or ignore the post. Your choice.

Oh I do not argue your post here, quite the contrary, I appreciate it for information value, and to mark his passing.  I do not cruise zooville enough to have ever seen it there.

I feel that he did more harm than good for the community.

I feel his ban was beneficial for the site because this is a higher class place than that.

And I don't care for drama.

'nuff said.....

He was a unique character.  Not only in the zoo world, but in every aspect of his life.  Quite the daredevil, I understand.

I stayed clear of him, because the word on reddit was he was associated with some bad things.

I have no idea if that was true or not.  Just why I did not reach out.  I wish him RIP regardless.  I feel no one should leave this world with want or pain.

I haven’t been active in the community long enough to have known some of, what I believe are the rumors, that went around about him.

I do know from being a listener of the ZooTT podcast that he was a very outspoken soul and also had a great sense of humor. It’s always sad to lose someone like him, as a community, especially to an illness like cancer. It’s been a bit over a year since he has left us now, I wish him to and hope he has, rest peacefully and easy.
