Here's one of Chupacabra and Jack, they're like brothers; or at least best friends.

So Jack has Intervertebral Disk Disease, we just discovered last night. Great. He's fine; just gonna have occasional flare ups of pain for the rest of his life. Hope his resting gets him feeling slighty better. It's apparently genetic, it's not a bad case luckily.

I had two Pembroke Welsh Corgis with that.  It's much harder on them because of their short legs and heavy bodies.  I'm surprised to see a little guy like Jack with that condition.  Typically you see it in Corgis, Dachshunds, Basset Hounds, Pekingese and so on. The usual treatment 30-some years ago was a course of Prednisone, tapering off the dose.  I expect there are newer medicines now.

The most important way to avoid flare-ups is to try and keep him from jumping off things.  Sometimes that's more easily said than done, I'm afraid!  If he likes to be on the bed and such, you might end up building him a little set of steps covered with carpet.  And be careful he doesn't get fat.  (His weight looks good in the photos.)

I wish you luck keeping him healthy.  I feel his pain, quite literally!

Thank you, and trust me; we're doing our best and he's doing fine.
