I had a neat dream last night. - HeartBeatOfTheBeast - 03-23-2021

Last night I had a dream where I was sucked in the fictional universe of "Jumanji" : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumanji:_Welcome_to_the_Jungle

It's basically a jungle-like place where they lots of traps, wild animals and other hazards where the overall goal is just to survive. So in my dream I entered Jumanji with a bunch of people and made my way though the Jungle. It was getting late, but we found a compound in a clearing. We entered it and saw some cages, one of which had contained a half-human half-lion who told us to leave because there was a mad scientist conducting strange experiments transforming humans. A second later the scientist enters the compound and the other people in my party ran out, while I stayed in, intrigued about being transformed into a half-human half-animal hybrid.  I told the scientist I would love to participate in his experiments, to which he replied "I wish all my subjects were as willing as you". He gave me something special to drink, and said "the transformation shouldn't take long to happen". I then go to my cell to sleep, and am awaken by my team to "rescue me". Despite my pleading they break me out and I leave. I feel a little funny, and look at my face in a mirror, and notice my ears looked very pointy and cat-like, and that my face had a slight feline muzzle porturding from my skull. I tell the team that I was pissed that at them because I would have loved to been a hybrid. They think I am crazy because of that.

sure you didn't watch or read the Island of Dr. Manro, before bed? Which reminds me I need to reread that.

That was an interesting book, except for the fact that it was animals being transformed into hybrids instead of humans being transformed.

I've read the book, and seen the movie. The book was really a nice piece in early science fiction. I wish I had vivisection preformed on me to make me more beastly...

If you step back to the Golden Age of Sci Fi (before it made enough money to go mainstream) you will find a lot of interesting critters.   Keywords might be  "Little Fuzzy"  "Chanur"  "Pern"
