I'd say first and foremost, these days, is think with your big head and not with your little head.
Stay off other people's property. Stay off other people's animals. Stay away from meet-ups and keep your little secret to yourself.
Take your time and read the existing topics here that catch your eye.
I began 50 years ago, on a farm. Probably not your situation.
Bad thing today: Legal issues almost everywhere-- Don't get caught.
Good thing today: Online community-- You are not alone like it was back then.
