But where does it say that not spaying / neutering your dogs removes more chances than it increases?

It doesn't.  Neither did I.

All you gave was anecdotal evidence and nothing else, though.

I chose not to do a mega copy-and-paste nor post a bunch of links that could potentially draw unwanted attention to this site.  I suppose I should have added something like "The truth is out there.  Google is your friend."

Mostly zoophiles are mostly against spaying / neutering? I haven't even seen this behavior in animal rights or vegan communities.

The major "animal rights" organizations would like nothing more than if domestic animals would cease to exist.  One of them uses a slogan "One generation and done" or similar.  I have no idea what vegan communities have to do with this discussion.

I think we just have to accept that it's a healthier thing for our animals and that most zoos don't do it solely because they want sex.

I've considered it multiple times myself.

What I dislike about it is the way they use bad-science scare tactics to sell it.  And removing the gonads of animals that are just barely weaned is just wrong on so many levels.

Maybe because it wasn't true.

Isn't that what I said?  A crank/prank post (somewhere) that multiplied out of control. It was recognized as such and disappeared. Like the joke on the techie sites about "write-only memory" from a decade or so ago.

All that aside, there is an alternative spay that I just can't figure out.  The uterus-sparing spay.  What's the point?  Take out the ovaries (there go the hormones!) and leave behind probably the most troublesome part of the female anatomy.  Strange.

The word you're looking for is "ovariectomy". Using that search term may help you find more information.

My understanding is that many European vets prefer ovariectomy (= OVE) over "full spay" (ovariohysterectomy = OVH). It's a simpler surgery, from a technical perspective, so the animal doesn't need to be under anaesthesia as long, and recovery is quicker. There is still a remote risk of pyometra, but it's very uncommon in a bitch that's no longer going through heat cycles.
