Many vets, animal professionals, working/sporting dog people and show dog people are now shifting to preferring late spay/neuter if they want to get it done as opposed to pediatric (before 1-2 years depending on the breed).  If someone wants to speuter it's much better for the dog, particularly as far as joint and bone development goes, to do it after maturity if they can responsibly keep the dog from breeding until then.  A lot of pet owners aren't responsible enough for that though, in that case I think early speuter is better than their dogs accidentally breeding and producing puppies.  I kinda view early speutering as a "necessary evil" in that way, based on the research I don't think it's great to do but without it most people wouldn't give a fuck and let their dogs reproduce anyway, at least in the USA with our current pet ownership culture.  Lots of other western countries don't speuter at all.




I know and have heard from many dog people and owners against speutering and none of them are zoophiles.
