Not saying you couldn't get (or need) a permit. Just saying it's going to be about as convenient to carry and draw as going through daily activities packing a 30-06 down your pant leg. Your assailant (or wild hog) will be on you before you can get off your first round.
Particularly if you get it engraved, it needs a hand-rubbed mahogany stand on the mantle over the fireplace, like my old man's damascus barrel shotgun.
