What I would recommend is that you shouldn´t build up too much expectations when fantasizing about your future life as an active zoophile. Sure, before I decided to join a riding club, I also had these fantasies...how it would be with a mare by my side. But one thing I can say for sure: it will always turn out different than what those idealised fantasies tell you. I´m more of a guy that uses the energies wasted on fantasizing for actually make things happen in real life...and adapt in order to create my life the way I want it to be as closely as possible to my ideals. So, if you really want a life with an animal, place your focus on creating it rather than painting it in the brightest pictures. Wow, you really seem to have been hit by me mentioning fetishism. Don´t put too much emphasis on this, but always keep in mind that fur, scent and physical appearance can and will never make up for the lack of true closeness of the souls involved. Much like someone who is "totally into big breasted women"...take away the big tits and see how quickly "love" will disappear. That´s what I meant with fetishism here...the "pars pro toto" problem when focusing too much on physical appearance, body traits and such. Sure, my mare´s body indeed is an erotically loaded entity for me, but I have understood that body traits are just the surface and don´t mean too much anymore when you discover more, go deeper, get to really know your quadruped partner...if you both find pleasure and peace in each other´s company, bodies won´t contribute much anymore. Regarding your last question: Yes, I am what we Germans call a "Berufsreiter" /professional rider...a person that earns his living from working fulltime in the equestrian "industry". In Germany, you need to go through three years of apprenticeship and then pass exams to rightfully acquire your job´s title; there are two major branches , one is called "Pferdewirt , Schwerpunkt Zucht und Haltung, the other is called "Pferdewirt, Schwerpunkt Reiten"...and I´m the latter, being qualified and trained to give riding lessons. Those both branches differ in what level of riding skills you have to gather and the "Zucht und Haltung" (breeding and horsekeeping) guys have more knowledge on, well, breeding and horsekeeping while the "Schwerpunkt Reiten" guys are the ones who are standing in the riding hall, giving lessons and are more trained in both dressage and showjumping. I worked almost two decades as a riding instructor, employed by different riding clubs, but after the death of my mare in January 2016, I quit my job for my own mental balance. If my family hadn´t made the purchase of my farm possible, I´d probably stand in a riding hall again now, teaching the spoiled sons and daughters of the wealthy. Nope, I have slept for cumulative decades back to back with a large dog. It's the best I've ever slept. Sex is something that we do every now and then. Sleep is every night as a minimum.

Well, I can live with being called a romantic. Maybe it was exactly that "romantic" love for my mare what saved me from other horseowners when my mare was boarded in various public stables. But the one turning me into a "romantic" was my Hannover mare; she actually "made me" into what I am, her love nurtured and sustained me in everything. With all that she gave me during her life, she left me no other choice but to feel that strong bond between her and me, that deep love for the being that is in me even two and a half years after her death. She´s always there, always with me. All my devotion, my continuing gratitude for her is well earned and deserved...she was an "Über-"mare to me. She gave me far more than I´d ever had expected in my rather unexperienced teens. So when you want to blame someone for turning me into a romantic, blame her for it. I don´t know if you can rightfully call this an advantage. Others may call it "not knowing what you want". I´ll frankly admit that I have no experience with dogs, they don´t interest me in the slightest and being with a herbivore is perfectly fine with me as I´m a veggie myself for decades now. By the way, herbivores seem to take notice of that...not smelling of digested meat out of every pore seems to have a huge effect on how they behave towards you. Somehow understandable...not smelling like one of their natural foes makes things easier with them.
About that cuddling stuff: you don´t seem to have seen the pictures of my mare and me I uploaded, have you? I wish I had ten cents for every time that I laid down with her, her head resting on my chest...and contrary to your statement about horses, she was indeed a very active lady when it comes to giving hugs. And please note that I have never said that horses don't show affection, just that they show it differently than dogs. My Guy will not sleep with me in contact with him. Does it mean that he doesn't trust me? No, it means that he's smarter than anyone that claims to sleep with a full sized horse. Horses have REM (Rapid Ear Movement) sleep just like all mammals. The difference is that an exciting dream for him could easily be crippling for me. That's why "dogpile" is a common word and "horsepile" only refers to dead horses. And we won't even get into the details of breathing with twelve hundred lbs across your chest.
